BCHC’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mary Kelleher has dedicated her professional life to community health. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University. After simultaneously completing her MD and Masters of Public Health from Columbia University, she completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Maryland. From there, she joined the Southeast Baltimore Community Health Center. In 2004, she joined the physician staff of the Reading Health Dispensary. Dr. Kelleher was appointed Chief Medical Officer of Berks Community Health Center when the health center opened in June, 2012.

Dr. Joy brings extensive experience as a family physician and physician educator, having most recently been Associate Program Director of the Family and Community Medicine Residency Program at Penn State Health St. Joseph in Reading, where she also served as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine. She earned her bachelor’s of science in pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and went on to train as a physician at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at St Joseph Medical Center. She is board-certified in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment, a registered pharmacist and is certified in hyperbaric medicine.

With nearly two decades of experience as a Pediatrician, providing care to children and educating medical students in a variety of settings, Dr. Karen Wang has joined Berks Community Health Center as Director of Pediatrics. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Wang received her MD from the Boston University School of Medicine, where she was honored with the Stephen R. Preblud Memorial Award for top pediatric academic performance in her graduating class. She did her Pediatric internship and residency at the Tufts University-New England Medical Center’s Floating Hospital for Children. After working in private practice and as a school physician, she was most recently a Pediatrician at the Children’s Health Center of Reading Hospital.  Dr. Wang is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Thomas Jefferson University Sydney Kimmel School of Medicine, both in Philadelphia.

Chelsea E. Marks, DO, has joined Berks Community Health Center as the OB/GYN Physician.  Dr. Marks completed medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.   She completed her residency at Memorial Hospital in York, PA and is Board Certified.  Before joining BCHC, Marks practiced at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital.  Dr. Marks will see patients at Berks Community Health Center’s fourth and newest site at 1110 Rockland Street in Reading.

Dr. Michael Patti joined BCHC in October, 2016. With more than 30 years of experience as a family doctor, he provides primary care to patients at the Second Street health center. A graduate of Villanova University, Dr. Patti received his MD from the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. He completed his residency in family medicine at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital and served as a Navy physician for two decades at locations across the U.S. and the globe, and subsequently worked in private practice. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Williams completed medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, her residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital/NPHS, Philadelphia, PA and is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Before joining BCHC, Dr. Williams practiced at Kutztown Family Medicine in Kutztown, PA. Dr. Williams also was a Family Medicine Provider at Hamilton Health Center, an FQHC in Harrisburg, PA, for 20 years.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Judith Awurumibe, DNP-CRNP joined the health center in December, 2014. Born in Nigeria, Judith earned her RN at the Reading Hospital School of Nursing and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Alvernia University. She went on to become a Family Nurse Practitioner at Millersville University. Dr. Awurumibe keeps busy as the mother of six children. She is also active in the community, serving as president of the Nigerian Nurses Association, Pennsylvania Chapter, and the social coordinator for the Nigeria Association of Reading and Berks County. She was vice president of the National Association of the Nigerian Nurses in North America (NANNNA) from 2020 to 2021 and is now president for 2022.  She also heads a charity benefitting children’s education that was established in memory of her father.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Erin Churico brings an array of experience to her role at BCHC.  Most recently, she was a primary care provider at All About Children Pediatric Partners in West Reading. A graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the Chamberlain College of Nursing, and her Master’s of Science in Nursing and certification as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Drexel University in Philadelphia.  Also from Drexel, she was awarded an Advance Certificate in Complementary and Integrative Therapies. She has previous experience as a Labor and Delivery RN, a school nurse at the Daniel Boone Area School District., and was a Breastfeeding Trainer and Educator with the American Academy of Pediatrics’ and Pennsylvania Department of Health’s EPIC program.

Sarah Davison-Carey, MSN, is a new Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience at places such as Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia, Tower Health in Reading and Mercy Flight Central, Aureus Medical Group and St. James Mercy Health System in New York. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing both from Walden University. Sarah was also an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Alvernia University. Nneka Ikedinma, DNP-CRNP, joined BCHC in 2019. She earned her diploma in Nursing at Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences and worked at Reading Hospital Medical-Surgical unit for five years. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University, graduating with President’s honors.  She recently earned her Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.  Dr. Ikedinma also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology, from University of Nigeria Nsukka.
She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau- the International Honor Society for Nursing.
Nneka is a mother of four kids and her interests include reading, music, biking, and traveling.

Since receiving her master’s of science in nursing from the University of Phoenix and completing training as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Widener University, Deborah has provided care in rehabilitation and outpatient settings. She worked as an ICU and CCU nurse at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center and Reading Hospital. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Ilorin, West Africa.

Oumar Sano, CRNP, a board-certified nurse practitioner, joined BCHC part-time in October 2014. Mr. Sano earned his Associates Degree in Nursing from Reading Area Community College and then continued his education at Kutztown University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. He completed his formal studies and became a Family Nurse Practitioner at Millersville University. He has worked at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center and Paoli Medical Center. His experience includes working with individuals in the community with mental health challenges, as well as hospitalized patients with cardiac and general medical and surgical needs.

Heather Shuker is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 12 years of clinical nursing experience. A graduate of the School of Health Sciences at Reading Hospital, she earned her BSN and Master of Science in Nursing at Millersville University. Her experience included hospital medical and surgical care, and she has trained in Family Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine with local physicians. She belongs to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.

Jeannie Stephen, CRNP, received her BSN at Immaculata University in 2004, and went on to earn her Master’s degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2011 from Millersville University. She also has more than 20 years of nursing experience in healthcare settings including cardiac units, intensive care, gastroenterology clinics, post acute care and pediatrics. Prior to joining BCHC in 2015, Ms. Stephen worked as a nurse practitioner in the Reading Hospital Emergency Department. During her nursing career, she worked at Brandywine Hospital , Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital and Reading Hospital in various clinical settings. She enjoys volunteer work at the Children’s Home of Reading, and enjoys traveling with her two grown children.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Okwuchi Uchendu (Ocy), a certified Family Nurse Practitioner joined the Berks Community Health Center as a nurse practitioner after several years of practice as a registered nurse in a high acuity tertiary hospital setting. She has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain University. She went on to complete her family nurse practice training from the same institution with certification obtained in October 2021. Ocy will be providing comprehensive care to patients across all age groups.  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and entertaining friends over dinners. She loves to spend time with her family and engage in spirit-lifting activities.

Dr. Malini Moni joined BCHC as Chief Dental Officer in 2018. Dr. Moni brings extensive clinical and research experience in dentistry and public health to her new role at BCHC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in dental surgery at the Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, and also achieved her Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, in which she examined barriers to health-seeking behavior for oral health problems. Dr. Moni subsequently worked in private dental practice in her native India. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and an interdisciplinary post-doctoral fellowship in Dentistry and Rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She earned her DDS from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Johnstone established Dental Services at BCHC in 2017. She brings more than two decades of experience in community dental health to BCHC, and is dedicated to providing comprehensive dental care for all members of the community with an emphasis on prevention. A graduate of Tulane University, she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Her interests include hiking and bike riding.

Dr. Joan Mosley-House brings three decades of experience providing dental care in private practice to BCHC.  She received her undergraduate degree at Howard University, and subsequently earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery and completed her residency at Howard.  She is an active volunteer in the community, such as providing free dental screening for the Colgate Smiles program, and volunteering with other organizations serving children.  She has been a member of the New Era Dental Society, the American and Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentists, and the American Association of Women Dentists.  Dr. Mosley-House provides dental care at BCHC’s Rockland Street location.

Lauren Wagner started with Berks Community Health Center in August of 2021. She graduated from Northampton Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree – Dental Hygiene in 2019. Since then, Lauren worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist at two private practices. Lauren recently obtained her Public Health Dental Hygienist Practitioner certification. When Lauren isn’t working, she loves to spend time with family and travel.

Director of Behavioral Health

Helen Wooten, LCSW, is Director of Behavioral Health Services at BCHC. She established and directed Berks Community Health Center’s Outreach Department from June, 2012, through September, 2014. Fluent in Spanish, she has worked within the field of mental health as a licensed behavioral specialist, licensed social worker, and licensed clinical social worker for the past 20 years, serving diverse populations including adolescents and adults in need of mental health and drug and alcohol services. A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, she received her master’s degree is social work from Marywood University. A long-time provider of human services in Berks County, Ms. Wooten was a social worker with the Reading Health System, and clinical supervisor of a local mental health outpatient site in Reading. She has been certified as a trauma therapist by Drexel University. A long time resident of Berks County, Ms. Wooten has a deep commitment to the community and increasing access to services.  Over the past few years, Helen has earned the title of Behavioral Specialist, Certified Family Recovery Specialist, Certified Recovery Specialist and Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist.

We welcomed Lydia M. Anderson, MSN, CNM as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in May 2022. Anderson started their education with a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University College of Arts & Sciences. Anderson then completed their Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse-Midwifery Specialty from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, TN and received their American Midwifery Board Certification in April 2021. Anderson is licensed as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse-Midwife in Pennsylvania and is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. They take a holistic approach to caring for patients’ gynecologic and obstetric health concerns. Anderson provides outpatient midwifery care including annual exams, Pap smears, STI screening and treatment, evaluation and management of gynecologic problems, family planning and contraceptive management, and prenatal and postpartum care.

Dr. Noahleen Betts is a Podiatrist who joined Berks Community Health Center in 2015.  A graduate of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, she completed residency training at Roxborough Memorial Hospital which included forefoot surgery, rearfoot reconstructive surgery and comprehensive wound care. She is currently on the Medical Staffs at Reading Hospital and Penn State-St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Prior to joining BCHC, she was in private practice since 2008. She is interested in Sports Medicine and participates in The Reading Hospital Road 10K Run annually. She is very much involved in community service and is founder of the Miss Teen Reading, PA Organization in 2012. This non-profit organization aims to increase the graduation rate of female students in the Reading School District and their matriculation rate in post secondary institutions.

Optometrist Dr. Elizabeth Diener provides eye care for BCHC patients. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she received her doctorate in optometry at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Diener is TPA and Glaucoma certified.  Dr. Diener cares for patients at both the BCHC Penn Street and Rockland Street Health Centers.

Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist

Dori Goulden, a Licensed Dietitian and Nutritionist, joined the staff of BCHC in the Fall of 2015.  She has established the health center’s nutrition support and education program, which adds significantly to BCHC’s ability to provide multi-disciplinary care for our patients. Ms. Goulden offers individual counseling for patients working to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, as well as for those with chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.  A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in social work, Ms. Goulden earned her master’s in nutrition from Bastyr University in Seattle, and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Her experience includes providing clinical dietitian services and management in outpatient, inpatient and long-term health care settings in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

We welcomed John Irwin, DPM to our Podiatry staff in September 2021. Dr. Irwin started his education with a bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University, followed by a certificate of Biomedical Sciences from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 2015. Dr. Irwin completed his residency at Albert Einstein Medical College. Since then, Dr. Irwin had ongoing experiences at Lifecare Podiatry in Philadelphia and Premier Ankle and Foot in York. This gave him experience in a high volume podiatry setting as well as seeing patients in nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities. Dr. Irwin is Board Certified through the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and also Board Qualified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties.

Dr. Elizabeth Roserie provides chiropractic care to patients at BCHC’s Penn Street and Rockland Street locations.  A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY.  She brings experience in private chiropractic practice to BCHC.  A member of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association and the American Business Women’s Association, she was honored in 2014 as Associate of the Year by the American Business Women’s Association.

Chiropractor Dr. Joe Sekulski joined BCHC  in 2016. He provides care at both the Penn Street and Rockland Street Health Centers. Prior to joining BCHC, he had his own chiropractic practice with offices in Reading and Boyertown. A graduate of Kutztown University, Dr. Sekulski earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Chiropractic Associations, and the Berks County Chiropractic Society.
